2023 El GreCo Red Blend 750ml bottle

A co-fermentation of Grenache (54%) and Counoise (46%) from the Cedarville Vineyard on granite soils. These two varieties grow side-by-side there, and so we just picked them both together and made a pretty cool wine! The Grenache provides bright fruit and high-toned aromas, while the Counoise gives us acidity and a nice peppery note. Both were whole cluster fermented, with gentle daily punchdowns, and pressed just before dryness. The wine was aged in a 600 liter puncheon (ie mini-foudre). Together they make a wine that has old-school southern rhone vibes - there’s plenty of fruit here, but also a touch of tar and warm granite and leather. The aromas are explosive and expansive. Pair this one with any dish with plenty of garlic and roasted veggies. 60 cases made. 13% abv.
